Thanks for your comment Katherine, I am amazed how may people who I have spoken to lately who are looking for ways to change their sub-conscious mind to help them through the difficulties (physical and emotional) in their lives. I am now studying to be a Certified Lifeline Practitioner so that I can help Mums really feel great on all levels. Bring on 2012 so that we can all live healthy and happy lives.

I remember having a conversation with you about all this the other day and it really hit home. I even spoke to my Beautician about how we can change the sub-conscious mind and she totally agreed.

It is so imporatant to be positive and grateful for everything you are and all that you have. I'm a great believer of 'everything happens for a reason' because it gives us all a chance to learn and grow.

Shelley, thank you for your comments. This blog was not intended to be anti-dairy but a comment that dairy in not the only way to get good levels of calcium in your diet. I disagree that only a small portion of the population have a problem digesting dairy. You have mentioned lactose, this is the carbohydrate portion of dairy. I find that many people have problems digesting the protein portion of dairy, in particular casein, as they don't have the correct enzymes to break it down into small amino acids chains for absorption. Many of my clients, children and adults, find that the removal of dairy from their diet removes their symptoms such as congestion, sinus, asthma, eczema and behavioural issues.
The point of my blog was to show that removal of dairy from the diet did not limit the intake of calcium if a healthy balanced Mediterranean diet was followed. There is limited research evidence to show that milk consumption increases bone density despite the message that has been delivered for many years.

Some individuals digest dairy well and a small proportion of individuals don't. If the former, a calcium rich diet via dairy foods is an easy way to support good bone health. In addition to Vitamin D, good genes AND a lifetime of exercise that exerts multiple forces on bone, contribute to overall bone mass and density. In those who are lactose intolerant or who are allergic, there are alternatives as suggested.

This anti-dairy position is supported by a selection of examples that do not sufficiently argue your case. Balance is the key to good bone health like many other aspects of health.

As a mother with a 20 month old who this week was diagnosed with whooping cough, this ongoing debate "to vaccinte or not to", has been an emotional one for me, as I'm sure a lot of parents.
I agree Ange that we are lucky to have the choice to make educated decisions.
I agree too that we have an enormous amount of information out there (although we need to make sure it's not biass info, and the sources are sound), and that we as parents need to do what's right for our families.
I have strong views on the subject, but don't think that's the issue at hand..... I guess I wanted to say that I am a reiki healer, use a fabulous natropth, and many other alternate methods of keeping myself n son healthy n happy, BUT, there is a time and place for modern medicine to be accessed. We are so lucky in Australia to have the best of both worlds, and a good FREE service. And I believe we need to find balance. Listen to your intuition.....
I did a lot of research before I decided to vaccinate my baby, and i am very glad that's what I decided to do, especially watching him so sick now. I wish that a vacination totally protected us, and I'm sure there is a financial motive somewhere hidden there, but to reduce the risk , in this case, from fatal odds to surviving, in my opinion, was worth it. And I am damn sure that I will keep my child away from any other child till he's no longer contagious, and I feels well enough- then I know in my heart I'm contributing to the spread of this disease, vaccinated or not. (This to me is where my emotion on this topic lies).
Again Angela thank you for the food for thought, you are right that no matter if our opinions differ, we should respect another parents choice. Not just on this subject, but any.
